4 Assessment Drawings |
Assessments
In this assessment, we were supposed to draw a shoe, a self portrait, a city street by 2-point perspective, and a hand. |
Value of drawing objects/ shapes
Perspective In this post we were supposed to study and draw different points of view. I used a ruler to get the lines a straight as possible. |
Value drawings
For this mini project we had to draw shading variations and examples. We used lights to get the exact shadows for the shapes and detergent bottle. Perspective 1,2 & 3 |
Final Perspective Drawing (unfinished)
For this final project, we were tasked with creating a lego figure with both positive and negative space. We also used perspective to create depth in the sketch. At first I struggled getting the correct perspective because I had to change it up quite a bit while drawing. Also, sketching out the blocks were hard because the pieces were in different sizes and positions. It all started getting easier once I started using a ruler to get a better look at the perspective. This project taught me different ways on how to add depth to my drawings
Pen and Ink Unit

In this section we were tasked to practice five different pen techniques while following tutorials. These videos helped me learn how to add depth and contrast to my final project. The first picture are 1/2 in by 1/2 in value charts that helped me learn stippling, hatching, cross hatching, and inverted pen techniques. The other tutorials helped me practice drawing realistic textures.

Fantasy Environment Ideas
This is a photo of twenty ideas for a fantasy environment using perspective. We had also had to research M.C Escher and take notes on how he uses fantasy, perspective and impossible construction/environments in his work.

Compositional sketches
For this post we had to sketch out our ideas. I chose the overgrown city idea. The last post is the most detailed because that's the one I chose to base my final project on. |

These are three photos taken through the process of doing the final project |

Colored Pencil Unit
Final Colored Pencil Mini Project
|
These were our first two worksheets practicing shading with color pencils. The first photo helped us practice gradation, tint, shade, and various other techniques. The second worksheet helped us practice pressure stroke.

For this project we all had to pick different desserts to draw out. I chose to draw this simple Ice cream cone. For the bottom layer of ice cream I started out with a dark color called Spanish orange. Then I started shading the lighter parts with the colors orange, peach, and white. The middle layer was th same process but with white and light shade of black. The top layer was just purple with white highlights.
